Guwahati, July 5: A Swift car (registration number AS01 DL 8066) met with an accident when it lost control and plunged into floodwaters on the Narengi Chandrapur highway in Panikhaiti’s Lahapara area. The incident occurred as the vehicle was traveling at high speed from Narengi towards Chandrapur.
The car, carrying four young men, veered off the road and fell into the floodwaters, prompting immediate response from local residents. Fortunately, due to the swift actions of nearby residents, all four occupants were rescued from the submerged vehicle without any casualties. Despite the ordeal, the youths sustained no serious injuries.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the precise cause of the accident. The incident serves as a reminder of the risks posed by flooded roads during the monsoon season and highlights the importance of cautious driving and prompt community response in emergency situations.
