Upper Siang, Arunachal Pradesh, July 5: The Deputy Commissioner of Upper Siang district has issued a traffic advisory announcing the closure of a significant stretch of road due to multiple landslides and adverse weather conditions. The affected route is the Dite Dimme-Migging road, from Moying (Km 92+250) to Migging (Km 189+100).
Recent torrential and incessant rainfall in the region has triggered numerous landslides and landslips along this stretch of road. In response to these hazardous conditions, the road closure will be enforced until July 7 at 6 pm, pending further evaluation of the situation.
Efforts to clear the debris and restore passage along the route are currently underway by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO). However, progress is being impeded by the ongoing inclement weather conditions.
The closure spans approximately 97 kilometres and significantly impacts travel and transportation in Upper Siang. Local authorities are advising residents and travellers to seek alternative routes and exercise caution when navigating the area’s roads.
The district administration has ensured that this information is widely disseminated to local officials and community leaders to maximize awareness of the road closure. Individuals intending to travel to or through Upper Siang are urged to stay updated on the latest traffic advisories and weather forecasts.
This advisory aims to prioritize public safety and minimize risks associated with travel amidst challenging weather conditions in the region.
