Guwahati, July 22 — The Gauhati High Court has convicted former APSC Chairman Rakesh Paul and 33 others in connection with the 2013 Agriculture Development Officer (ADO) recruitment scam. This decision is a significant development in the broader APSC cash-for-job scandal.
The case, which came to light between 2015 and 2016, involved allegations that candidates paid bribes to manipulate exams and secure government jobs. Rakesh Paul was accused of overseeing a flawed recruitment process during his tenure.
Alongside the convictions, the court acquitted 10 individuals: Vikas Pincha, Kunal Das, Kaushik Kalita, Musharaf Hussian, Beauty Gogoi, Feroz Maran, Jyotiban Dutta, Seiz Ali Zohri, Dritiman Roy, and Mausomi Saikia.
