Manipur, India, August 1, 2024 — In response to increasing unrest, security forces in Manipur have launched extensive search operations and area domination exercises across both hill and valley districts. These measures are aimed at improving safety and maintaining peace in vulnerable regions.
The enhanced security protocols have ensured the safe passage of vehicles on major highways NH-37 and NH-2, with 172 vehicles using NH-37 and 287 vehicles on NH-2 without incident. Security convoys are also being deployed on sensitive highway sections.
Additionally, authorities have set up 101 checkpoints, or Nakas, across various districts, which have been crucial in enforcing law and order. As part of these efforts, police have detained 127 individuals for state regulation violations, demonstrating a strong commitment to regional stability and safety.
