On August 4, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh convened a high-level meeting at the Secretariat to address issues related to the transport of petroleum products along National Highway 37 (NH37).
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including members from the Consortium of Manipur Petroleum Products Transporter Fraternity, Retail Outlet Dealers, LPG Distributors, and the Drivers Association. The primary focus was on optimizing and securing the transportation of petroleum products.
In a statement on X, CM Singh confirmed that a consensus was reached to resume the transport of petroleum products and tankers on NH37. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the uninterrupted movement of these essential resources. “We are dedicated to maintaining efficient transportation on NH37 to support our state’s needs,” Singh noted.
The chief minister also acknowledged the significant contributions of private enterprises to Manipur’s economic development and local job creation. He reiterated the government’s support for initiatives that foster economic growth and infrastructure development, including skill training programs for displaced individuals and various state-wide projects aimed at enhancing the economy.
