BSF Chief Reviews Tripura Border Security Amid Bangladesh Unrest

Agartala: On August 7, BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary conducted an urgent review of border security measures along the Tripura-Bangladesh border in light of the ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh.

Chaudhary, along with Additional DG Ravi Gandhi and other senior officers, met at the Tripura Frontier headquarters to evaluate the current security protocols. He received a comprehensive briefing on border security arrangements from senior officials.

A follow-up meeting is scheduled between Chaudhary and Tripura’s Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, along with Inspector General (Law & Order) Saumitra Dhar, to further discuss border security. Although Chaudhary’s visit to specific border areas was canceled, Additional DG Gandhi will proceed to inspect Srimantapur and Nehalchandrangar in the Sepahijala district.

In response to the unrest in Bangladesh, the BSF has ramped up surveillance along the 856-km border in Tripura to prevent illegal crossings and ensure border security.
