Itanagar, August 10, 2024 — Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today officially launched the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign from the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar, setting the tone for a week of patriotic celebrations as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The launch event was marked by spirited participation, with Chief Minister Khandu personally distributing national flags to students from various schools and representatives from vibrant villages across the state. The highlight of the event was a cyclothon featuring 78 cyclists, which Khandu flagged off, symbolizing the spread of the Tiranga spirit across the state.
Khandu also led the assembly in taking the Tiranga pledge, reinforcing the importance of national unity and pride. Certificates of participation were presented to the cyclists and other participants in recognition of their involvement.
The ceremony resonated with patriotic fervor, including the unfurling of a large tricolour flag and a series of patriotic songs. In his address, Khandu urged the people of Arunachal Pradesh to embrace the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign by hoisting the national flag at their homes and engaging in the various activities planned for the week.
Running from August 9 to 15, the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative in Arunachal Pradesh features a series of patriotic events, including processions, rallies, runs, and marathons, organized at both state and district levels. These celebrations also pay tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters, with special recognition given to their families.
Speaking to the press, Chief Minister Khandu emphasized the importance of the campaign in fostering a sense of national pride and unity. He encouraged citizens to actively participate, take selfies with the flag, and inspire others to do the same. He also highlighted the dual purpose of the cyclothon, which not only promotes patriotism but also encourages a healthy lifestyle.
“This campaign is a testament to our deep-rooted patriotism and our dedication to honoring the spirit of our nation,” Khandu remarked. “From the borders to the foothill towns, Arunachal Pradesh is proudly displaying its commitment to upholding the values that define our country.”
