On India’s 78th Independence Day, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma introduced a groundbreaking financial scheme aimed at empowering citizens. The new initiative will provide interest-free loans of up to Rs 50 lakh to eligible residents, marking a significant departure from traditional loan models.
This scheme is designed to stimulate economic activity and support entrepreneurship, especially benefiting small business owners and individuals who struggle with accessing affordable capital. By eliminating interest charges, the program seeks to reduce financial barriers and promote investment across various sectors.
The announcement underscores the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government’s dedication to fostering economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for Mizoram’s residents. Since taking office in 2023, the ZPM has prioritized expanding economic opportunities and advancing public services.
