Itanagar, August 16, 2024 — In response to a directive from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) New Delhi, the Ramakrishna Mission Hospital in Itanagar will suspend its outpatient department (OPD) services and elective surgeries for 24 hours. This suspension aligns with a nationwide protest initiated by the IMA Arunachal Pradesh State Branch.
The shutdown will start at 6:00 AM on August 17, 2024, and end at 6:00 AM on August 18, 2024. During this period, essential and emergency services will remain fully operational to ensure that critical care continues without disruption.
The decision is part of a broader initiative by the medical community to address recent concerns and demands raised by the IMA, which include calls for enhanced protection and support for healthcare professionals across the country. The hospital management has assured the public that all efforts will be made to minimize any inconvenience and continue providing necessary care to those in need.
