Agartala, August 17, 2024 — Tripura’s Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs has announced a major update to its public distribution system with the introduction of new digital ration cards. To facilitate this transition, the department has set a deadline of September 30, 2024, for all existing ration cardholders to complete their Aadhaar-linked e-KYC.
The new digital ration cards will replace the current paper versions, requiring all listed family members to undergo Aadhaar e-KYC verification using fingerprint identification at designated ration shops. This process is crucial for the accurate issuance of the digital cards.
The department has observed that many consumers have yet to complete the Aadhaar linking and e-KYC procedures. Those who have not yet completed these steps are encouraged to visit their local ration shops and use the e-POS machines provided for the verification process. A list of consumers needing e-KYC is available at the ration shops.
Additionally, consumers are advised to verify and update their details—such as name, age, gender, and address—on their ration cards. Updates can be made via the department’s website or by scanning the QR code provided in the notification. Corrections can also be addressed online or at the Food Department office at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office.
