Gangtok, August 24 — Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has secured his position as one of India’s most popular state leaders, with his approval ratings soaring to new heights. According to the latest India Today Mood of the Nation survey, conducted by CVoter, CM Tamang has garnered the support of 55.7% of Sikkim’s population, marking a significant rise from his previous approval ratings of 26% in February 2024 and 32.5% in August 2023.
The survey also positions Tamang as the top-ranking Chief Minister in a national context, surpassing 29 other state leaders in terms of public approval. This comprehensive survey was conducted between July 15 and August 10, 2024, and included responses from 40,591 individuals across 543 Lok Sabha constituencies, along with insights from an additional 95,872 interviews tracked weekly by CVoter.
Expressing his gratitude for the overwhelming support, CM Tamang shared his sentiments on Facebook, stating, “The love and support from my ‘Sikkimey Janata’ is the most meaningful recognition I could ever receive. It’s this trust that drives me to serve with greater dedication and sincerity.”
The spike in CM Tamang’s approval is a testament to his effective governance, which has focused on development, welfare, and transparent leadership, earning him the trust and confidence of the Sikkimese people.
