RG Kar Medical College Returns to Normalcy Amid Ongoing Protests and CBI Probe

After days of turmoil, RG Kar Medical College and Hospital is gradually resuming normal operations. Patient numbers have surged, and all departments, including OPD and Emergency, are now fully operational, according to Medical Superintendent Saptarshi Chatterjee.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues to probe the assault and murder of a trainee doctor, seizing documents and hard drives from the hospital. Chatterjee confirmed that the CBI team has collected necessary items, and he has verified his signature on all documents.

Meanwhile, security measures have been heightened around the West Bengal state secretariat, Nabanna, in anticipation of the Nabanna Abhijan Rally, which demands justice for the murdered trainee doctor. The police have deployed vajra vehicles, water cannons, and Riot Control Force, and set up roadblocks to prevent potential unrest.

Despite the police deeming the rally “illegal” and aimed at provoking broader disturbances, the organizers, Paschim Banga Chatra Samaj and other groups, are determined to press for justice. The trainee doctor’s murder on August 9 has sparked nationwide outrage, and the demand for justice continues to grow.

As the college returns to normalcy, the community remains vigilant, seeking accountability and safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
