Cotton University Earns A Grade from NAAC; Vice-Chancellor Among Top 2% Scientists Globally

Guwahati, September 6, 2024 — Cotton University has achieved a major milestone by securing an A grade accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), earning a CGPA of 3.05 on a seven-point scale. This marks the university’s first cycle of assessment, making it the first in the northeastern region to receive such a distinction.

The achievement reflects the institution’s dedication to academic excellence and rigorous educational standards, positioning it as a leading center for higher learning in the region.

In addition to this accomplishment, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka has been recognized in Elsevier’s prestigious list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists for 2023, underscoring his notable contributions to the global scientific community.

Assam’s Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, commended Cotton University and Prof. Deka for their achievements. In a message on X, Pegu highlighted the university’s growing prominence in research and its continued commitment to advancing academic excellence in the state.
