In a significant step to bolster the nutritional health of schoolchildren, the Assam government has launched an upgraded midday meal program as part of the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM POSHAN) initiative. This revamped menu introduces 12 new recipes aimed at delivering a balanced diet that promotes both physical growth and cognitive development among students.
The Executive Director of Samagra Shiksha Assam (SSA) has directed District Mission Coordinators and Assistant District Nodal Officers to implement the revised meal plan without delay. The new menu emphasizes providing adequate carbohydrates, proteins, and vital vitamins to cater to the comprehensive nutritional requirements of students.
Officials believe this initiative will significantly enhance the health of students, leading to improved academic performance and overall well-being, thereby positively impacting their educational experience.
