Cachar Police, in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF), successfully seized 10,000 Yaba tablets in a major operation along the India-Bangladesh border. The drugs were ingeniously hidden in 50 blue packets to avoid detection.
The seizure took place within the Katigorah police station area, known for its cross-border smuggling activities. Yaba, a powerful methamphetamine-based drug, is increasingly trafficked through this region, often entering India from Myanmar via Bangladesh.
This joint operation highlights the determination of Cachar Police and BSF to combat the rising drug trade, which poses significant challenges due to the porous border. Authorities are ramping up efforts to tackle the escalating drug issue in Assam, which has become a key transit point for narcotics smuggling from Southeast Asia into India.
