Nagaland Minister Temjen Imna has reassured the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) that the proposal for the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) is advancing, addressing their concerns regarding the timeline for its release. During a recent engagement, Imna acknowledged ENPO’s request for a swift dissemination of the draft proposal but highlighted the substantial measures already undertaken by the state government.
Imna emphasized the productive collaboration between the ENPO and the Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union (ENLU), noting their active dialogue with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and the State Cabinet. He expressed confidence that ENLU legislators are making headway towards finalizing the draft proposal, thanks in part to preliminary discussions that have aligned both organizations on potential solutions.
The minister concluded by stressing the significance of these ongoing discussions, which aim to capture the concerns of the local populace. This approach will enable the state leadership to effectively address the issues raised when the draft proposal is eventually submitted for approval to the Chief Minister and the Cabinet.
