Manipur Chief Minister Confident in Efforts to Recover Abducted Youths

Imphal, October 2, 2024 — Chief Minister N Biren Singh conveyed a message of hope regarding the government’s efforts to secure the safe return of two youths kidnapped by Kuki militants. Speaking to the media during the National Cleanliness Day event, Singh reassured the public that the administration is fully engaged in addressing the crisis.

The abduction occurred on September 27 while the youths were en route to New Keithelmanbi. While one of the abducted individuals has since been released, the incident has ignited widespread outrage among citizens, prompting a statewide general strike demanding immediate action for the safe return of the remaining victim.

CM Singh reaffirmed the government’s dedication to resolving the matter, expressing confidence that a favorable outcome is imminent. “We are utilizing all available resources to ensure their safe return,” he stated, highlighting the urgency and seriousness of the situation as authorities work diligently to restore peace and security in the region.
