Ukhrul, Manipur – In response to the tragic violence that recently unfolded in Ukhrul District, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has announced ex-gratia payments to support the families affected by the unrest. The violent incidents resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two civilians and a member of the Manipur Rifles, leaving the community in deep mourning.
Expressing his heartfelt sorrow over the events, Chief Minister Singh conveyed his condolences to the grieving families. “The entire state stands united in grief during this tragic time,” he stated, emphasizing the solidarity of the community.
To assist those impacted, the State Government has initiated immediate financial aid in accordance with existing government schemes. Funds are being disbursed promptly, with a commitment to complete the process by tomorrow.
Moreover, the government is ensuring that injured individuals receive comprehensive medical care at hospitals in both Imphal and Ukhrul. Local MLAs have also stepped in to provide necessary assistance to the injured and their families, ensuring they have access to the support they need during this difficult period.
In light of the violence, the District Administration, along with local police and security forces, has quickly mobilized to restore order in the area.
