Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police Seize Massive Cache of Explosives Near Indo-Myanmar Border

In a significant crackdown on illegal activities along the Indo-Myanmar border, a joint operation by the Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police has resulted in the recovery of a substantial cache of war-like materials. This operation was initiated following intelligence reports regarding suspicious movements near the Tiau River.

Security forces launched the operation to intercept a motorcycle believed to be transporting illicit cargo. However, the rider, sensing the impending risk of capture, abandoned the vehicle and fled across the river, managing to evade arrest. A subsequent search of the abandoned motorcycle yielded a shocking find: 39,900 detonators along with a mobile phone, suggesting a potential plan for the use of these explosives.

This successful operation underscores the effective intelligence-gathering capabilities, strategic planning, and seamless coordination between the Assam Rifles and the Mizoram Police in tackling security threats in the border region. The recovered materials have been transferred to the Mizoram Police for further investigation, as authorities work to trace the origin of the explosives and identify their intended recipients.
