Five Illegal Immigrants Detained in Agartala Railway Station Operation

In a coordinated effort by multiple security agencies, five illegal immigrants were apprehended at Agartala Railway Station in Tripura on Monday. The operation involved the Government Railway Police (GRP) of Tripura, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and various intelligence agencies.

The authorities acted on confidential information, leading to the successful detention of the suspects. According to an official statement from the GRP Tripura, the group consists of two Bangladeshi nationals and three individuals from Myanmar. All had reportedly entered India illegally from Bangladesh and were attempting to board a train to travel to different Indian states. Conflicting reports emerged regarding their intended destinations; some claimed they were headed to Hyderabad, while others mentioned Mumbai.

“The Agartala GRP police station has officially registered a case regarding this incident, and the individuals will be presented before the court tomorrow,” the statement noted.

The detainees have been identified as Rohim Ullah (26), Md Ayub (45), and Hussanara Begum (32) from Rachidang, Myanmar, along with her 4-year-old son, Md Anish. Both Rohim and Ayub were residing in the Kutupalong Rohingya Camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The other two detainees are Md Chan Miah (24) and Sabbir Hossain (24), both from Bogura, Bangladesh.

Currently, the individuals are being interrogated at the Agartala GRP police station, with authorities suggesting that further arrests may follow as the investigation unfolds.
