Life Imprisonment for Four in Decades-Old Cases in Bijni

Bijni: In a landmark judgment, the Additional District and Sessions Judge of Bijni has handed down life imprisonment to four individuals in two separate cases, providing closure to long-standing criminal matters.

The first case, a heinous act of dacoity and murder dating back to 1989 (case number 182/1989), involved Shankar Rajbanshi (68) and Ranjit Rajbanshi (48), both residents of Lakhijhora No. 2. After decades of legal proceedings, the court has finally delivered justice, sentencing the duo to life imprisonment.

In the second case, a chilling incident of kidnapping and murder from 2014 (case number 364/2014), Majid Ali (42) of East Khamarpara and Zakir Hussain (34) were found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. Asmat Ali (25), another accused in the same case, was handed a seven-year jail term.

These verdicts signify a crucial step towards ensuring justice and upholding the rule of law. The judgments serve as a strong message to criminals, demonstrating that the judiciary is committed to bringing perpetrators to justice, no matter how long it takes.
