Tripura and Meghalaya CMs to Attend Northeast Trade and Investment Roadshow in Mumbai

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma are set to attend the Northeast Trade and Investment Roadshow in Mumbai on December 16, 2024. The event, organized by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), will be held at The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Colaba, starting at 3:30 PM.

Union Minister for MDoNER, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, will also address the roadshow, alongside Chief Ministers Dr. Manik Saha and Conrad K. Sangma. Other key officials from MDoNER, including Chanchal Kumar, Secretary, and Monalisa Dash, Joint Secretary, will also participate in the event, which will feature senior representatives from various North Eastern states.

The roadshow aims to create a platform for potential investors to explore investment opportunities across multiple sectors, including agri-food processing, IT & ITES, entertainment & sports, energy, infrastructure, tourism, healthcare, and education. It will include Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings, providing direct interactions between investors and state representatives.

This event is part of an ongoing series of roadshows designed to showcase the investment potential of the North Eastern states—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Previous roadshows held in cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Bengaluru, as well as the state seminar in Gujarat, have already generated significant investor interest.

The roadshow in Mumbai will be the sixth in the series and is expected to further boost investment in the region, which is seen as crucial for driving economic growth. The event will be held in partnership with the State Governments of the North Eastern states, FICCI (Industry Partner), and Invest India (Investment Facilitation Partner).

In addition to the roadshow, MDoNER is preparing for the North East Investors Summit, scheduled for March 6, 2024, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, where MoUs will be signed to further strengthen economic ties and foster investment in the Northeast region.
