A tragic plane crash occurred near Fullerton Municipal Airport in Southern California on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to 18 others. The crash, which took place just after 2 p.m., involved a Van’s RV-10 single-engine aircraft that crashed into the roof of a furniture manufacturing facility located about 25 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
Emergency crews and police responded quickly to the scene, evacuating the building and attending to the injured. According to Fullerton Police Department spokesperson Kristy Wells, 10 people were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to severe, while eight others were treated at the scene. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the two victims were aboard the plane or inside the building.
Aerial footage from the scene revealed thick smoke rising from the wreckage, with emergency responders working diligently to control the situation. Fire engines were seen at the crash site, and the chaos prompted a swift evacuation of the building.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) working to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
