In a swift operation, Assam Police recovered a significant cache of stolen foreign liquor valued at approximately Rs 3.14 lakh in Jorsimuli, Goroimari under Kamrup district. The recovery came after a theft at a wine shop in Boko’s Hahim area on Friday night, during which thieves targeted the establishment and made off with liquor and other valuables.
The stolen items included 63 cartons of assorted liquor, mobile phones, an inverter set, CCTV equipment, and Rs 2,400 in cash. The shop owner promptly reported the incident to the local police, initiating a search for the culprits and the stolen goods.
Acting on intelligence, the Jorsimuli Police conducted a covert operation late at night, targeting an abandoned house suspected to be connected to the theft. The raid led to the successful recovery of the stolen liquor. However, other items, including the mobile phones and cash, remain missing and are still being traced.
Authorities continue their investigation, aiming to locate the remaining stolen goods and apprehend those responsible for the crime.
