The 61st annual session of the Upper Assam Sumi Baptist Christian Union (UASBCU) began on Friday at Tsaliki village in Margherita Co-District. The conference, centered on the theme “Reverting Back to God,” has attracted participants from Upper Assam, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh.
UASBCU President Jogdang Jugli explained that the annual conference rotates among Sumi villages in Upper Assam, with this year’s event concluding on January 12.
The conference features notable speakers, including Kakheli Inato Jimo and Dr. Hutton Sumi from Nagaland. The gathering has drawn Baptist Christian devotees from six villages across the region.
The concluding ceremony will be attended by Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte and Margherita Co-District Commissioner Parikshit Thoudam as chief guests, marking a significant moment for the event.
