Two tourists from Assam sustained injuries in an accident at Mawkdok, Meghalaya, on January 12, while returning from Sohra (Cherrapunjee). The incident prompted immediate intervention by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, who were passing by the site.
The Chief Minister’s on-duty doctor provided first aid to the injured individuals on the spot. An ambulance was promptly arranged to transport them to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.
Officials have confirmed that the injured tourists are in stable condition and are expected to make a full recovery. This swift response by the Chief Minister and Health Minister underscores their commitment to public welfare and safety.
