A delegation of 40 members from the embassies of Sri Lanka, Ghana, Laos, Myanmar, and Malaya visited the Margherita Buddha Vihar premises on Sunday as part of the Charaideo Mahotsav, a cultural event held from January 9 to 11. The visit served as an official tour, further strengthening the diplomatic and cultural ties between these nations and India.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the people of Margherita and Assam, highlighting the region’s role in fostering international relationships. The Embassy of Laos expressed heartfelt gratitude for the hospitality and warmth extended by the local community, emphasizing that such gestures would go a long way in strengthening the bond between Laos and India.
During their visit, the embassy representatives were treated to a traditional feast featuring Singpho and Tai Khamti cuisine, allowing them to experience the rich cultural heritage of the region. The exchange not only showcased Assam’s diverse culinary traditions but also promoted cross-cultural understanding.
