In view of this, today, a massive raid was conducted in namroop market under the Office of Legal Metrology at Nahrakatia and the concerned department seized many items used in measurement measurements.
In collaboration with department officials and Namroop police led by Legal Measurement Science Department Inspector Devjit Bhattacharya, he today raided the market of namroop vegetable market, fish, falmul and seized electronic scales of many unscrupulous traders, daaga scales and six cases. The majority of traders in Namrup had been selling goods with unsealed stains for a long time with dust in the eyes of customers.
On the other hand, today, a team of inspectors caught the iron in their hands while many traders were holding their hands and selling goods without hanging the scales. Under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, it is mandatory for traders to verify or re-verify the stains, or stains used by them from time to time, even though unscrupulous traders have been cheating customers by dusting the eyes of the concerned department.
