Rahul Gandhi Disqualified From Parliament
Guwahati: Rahul Gandhi has been disqualified from the House of Representatives a day after being found guilty in the criminal defamation case of 2019,
Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi was found guilty of defamation by a Surat court on Friday and given a two-year prison sentence, according to a notice published by Parliament.
Congress has made the decision to protest and will meet with President Droupadi Murmu among other parties in response to Rahul Gandhi’s imprisonment.
The opposition party proclaimed a mass agitation and said they would fight not only legally but also politically just after Rahul Gandhi was found guilty in the “Modi surname” statement case.
In light of the decision, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge hosted a meeting at his residence with the top MPs and party figures.
”After the conclusion of the meeting, the members of the party decided to stage a protest at Vijay Chowk on March 24,” several reports claimed.
