Indian Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call To Nepal HM
Guwahati: Nepal Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha had a courtesy call from Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava on Wednesday. They covered a wide variety of topics of interest to both countries during their conversation.
Naveen Srivastava arrived in the office of the Home Minister in Singhadurbar, the administrative capital of Nepal, to talk about a variety of topics, including the visit of Nepal’s Prime Minister Parachanda to India, diplomatic ties between India and Nepal, border security, and other concerns.
The ambassador from India, Naveen Srivastava, was reassured by the deputy and home minister of Nepal, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, about the timing of the prime minister’s visit and both parties made a commitment to enhancing bilateral ties.
Similar to this, the home minister of Nepal stated that the two nations should have timely consultations, develop plans, and hold discussions on managing the border and reining in transnational criminal activity.
An official who was a part of the meeting in Nepal was quoted by ANI as saying, “Home Minister referring to his recent visit to one of the BOP (Border Out Post) along Indian border stated that both the nations have been carrying out the works along border effectively.”
The Nepali minister was also informed by Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava that India was looking forward to Nepalese Prime Minister Parachanda’s visit. Srivastava also suggested that the two countries cooperate on areas like border security.
The official further said, “There also was discussion about Nepalgunj- Rupaidiya, Bhairahawa- Sunauli and Dodhara-Chandani Integrated Check post.”
It should be noted that India and Nepal have ongoing partnerships in the field of education since they are near neighbours and friendly neighbours.
India’s assistance to Nepal includes capacity-building programmes and scholarships. India also works to enhance the socioeconomic situation of the entire area.
