Kejriwal Summons: AAP Leaders Detained During Protest Against Modi-Govt in Delhi

Guwahati: Several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and party workers from New Delhi and Punjab were detained by Delhi police on Sunday while staging a protest outside the CBI headquarters.

According to reports, the Punjab ministers Aman Arora, Brahm Shankar Jimpa, and Harjot Singh Bains, the RS MP for Punjab, Raghav Chadha, and the Delhi ministers Kailash Gehlot Atishi and Surabh Bhardwaj have all been held by the Delhi police.

They were protesting against the CBI for summoning Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the excise policy issue so that he may be questioned.

Prior to Kejriwal’s questioning, top party figures, including Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Atishi, and Kailash Gahlot, as well as Rajya Sabha members Sandeep Pathak, Raghav Chadha, and Sanjay Singh, gathered close to the federal agency’s headquarters and chanted anti-Prime Minister Narendra Modi slogans.

Similar protests took place in Assam, where a number of AAP officials said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Government at the Centre was “misusing the CBI” and “trying to scare” a leader who has worked for the development of the nation.

The Guwahati police then detained the AAP Assam unit leaders and workers and sent them to Chachal.
