PM Modi Reviews Security Situation In Sudan
Guwahati: A high-level meeting to assess the security situation in Sudan was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today via video conference. External Affairs Minister, National Security Advisor, Ambassador of India to Sudan and numerous other senior officials were present at the briefing.
During the discussion, PM Modi evaluated the most recent events in Sudan and got a firsthand account of the situation there, with an emphasis on the safety of the more than 3,000 Indian citizens who are currently spread out across the nation.
The Prime Minister sent his condolences to the family of the Indian national who died last week after regrettably being struck by a stray bullet.
PM Modi gave orders to all concerned officials to be on high alert, closely watch events, and constantly assess the safety of Indian nationals in Sudan and provide them with all necessary assistance. In addition, the prime minister gave instructions for the creation of emergency evacuation plans that took into consideration the quickly changing security environment and the viability of various solutions.
The prime minister also emphasised the value of keeping tight ties with nations in the area that share borders with Sudan as well as those that have sizable populations there.
