Cricket League Modelled After IPL To Take America By Storm

Guwahati: A cricket league in the United States of America that resembles the Indian Premier League is being proposed, which is good news for sports enthusiasts. ‘American Premier Cricket League’ will be the league’s moniker.

Several Indians, particularly those from Assam, are behind this project. According to information obtained, the league is scheduled to begin on June 11 in Chicago, USA. In the interim, a special ceremony saw the release of the league’s uniforms.

Along with a number of other well-known individuals, the event was attended by APCL President Subbu Iyer, member Lakhindra Sharma, and ICC T20 Special Correspondent Nilay Mehta.

However, Bhaskar Das gave Hrishiraj Talukdar, a player for the Russian national cricket team among others, some ideas on how to make the American Premier Cricket League a success.

Ten cricket teams will compete in the upcoming American Premier Cricket League, including Chicago Raiders, Gujarat Lions, Illinois Thunder, and Sher USA Cricket. The cricket league was established to increase interest in the sport among American kids.

There is optimism that the league would be able to match the popularity of the IPL and draw audiences akin to that of its Indian equivalent.

Assam’s Keteki Tea, Dubori Homestay, and Prithibi Sports & Events are just a few of the national and international companies that have agreed to sponsor the event.
