Manish Sisodia’s interim bail plea rejected by Delhi HC
Manish Sisodia the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was denied interim bail on Monday by the Delhi High Court in the dispute involving the Delhi liquor policy. The former deputy chief minister of Delhi requested release on the justification that he was his wife’s sole carer.
While rejecting the bail request, Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma did permit Sisodia to visit his wife in detention for one day between the hours of 10 am and 5 pm.
Following his detention on March 9 in a case brought by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Manish Sisodia is currently in judicial custody.
It should be mentioned that the AAP administration implemented the Delhi excise policy in November 2021. At the end of September of last year, it was later abandoned due to corruption charges.
In the excise policy fraud case, which the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was looking into, the court had on May 30 denied Sisodia’s request for bail, stating that because of his influence and the seriousness of the charges against him.
The interim bail application in the CBI case has been postponed until July by the high court.
