IPS Officer from Chhattisgarh Ravi Sinha Appointed New RAW Chief

Guwahati: Ravi Sinha, a senior member of the Chhattisgarh cadre of the Indian Police Service (IPS), was chosen to lead the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) on Monday.

According to a Ministry of Personnel order, the appointment of Sinha, an IPS officer from Chattisgarh’s 1988 batch, as the next RAW director, received approval from the Cabinet’s Appointments Committee.

A government order stated, “The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Rajiv Sinha, IPS, special secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, as Secretary, Research and Analysis Wing vice Samant Goel on completion of his tenure on June 30, 2023, for a tenure of two years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”

Samant Kumar Goel will be replaced by Sinha at the end of his term on June 30.

Sinha, an IPS officer from the class of 1999, is currently the Special Secretary for the Cabinet Secretariat.
