Indian Army Hosts Veer Naris and Veterans Rally at Tawang Military Station
In a gesture of respect and gratitude, the Indian Army organized a special rally dedicated to veterans and brave women, known as veer naris, at the Tawang military station on Sunday, April 28.
The event, as outlined in an official press statement, commenced with a poignant wreath-laying ceremony at the Tawang War Memorial, where veterans paid tribute to the courageous soldiers who defended Tawang during the 1962 war.
More than 150 veterans, veer naris, and next-of-kin veterans from across Tawang gathered to honor the occasion and avail themselves of the amenities provided at the venue.
Collaborating with staff from record offices of various regiments, the Tawang Brigade and the Station Headquarters addressed pension-related concerns.
Additionally, the venue featured a range of facilities, including Suvidha Kendras/stalls by banks, an Aadhaar biometric update center, a veterans Suvidha Kendra Tawang, a field hospital, the ECHS Polyclinic, Agriculture Assistance, an NCC Guidance Centre, and an Army Awareness and Motivation Centre, aimed at facilitating the needs of attendees.
