Sudarsan Pattnaik Crafts Sand Sculpture to Congratulate Narendra Modi on Third Term
Puri, Odisha: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created an intricate sand sculpture at Puri beach to congratulate Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi ahead of his swearing-in ceremony. The ceremony is set to take place today at 7:15 PM, marking Modi’s unprecedented third consecutive term as India’s leader.
Pattnaik’s artwork features a detailed image of Modi along with the message “ABHINANDAN MODI JI 3.0” and “VIKSIT BHARAT” inscribed below. The creation has drawn significant public attention, reflecting widespread anticipation for Modi’s third term.
In Delhi, posters celebrating Modi’s upcoming term have been put up, and extensive preparations are underway for the swearing-in ceremony. This historic event sees Modi as the first leader since Jawaharlal Nehru to win three successive full terms.
The swearing-in will also include the oath-taking of Modi’s new council of ministers. Over 1,100 Delhi traffic police personnel have been deployed to manage security and traffic, with specific routes arranged for attending delegates.
India’s “Neighbourhood First” policy is highlighted by the attendance of several regional leaders. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that leaders from Sri Lanka, Maldives, Seychelles, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Nepal, and Bhutan have accepted invitations to attend. The leaders will also participate in a banquet hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The MEA emphasized that this attendance underscores India’s commitment to regional engagement. Modi’s previous invitations to SAARC and BIMSTEC leaders in 2014 and 2019 reflect this ongoing diplomatic effort.
Despite the grand preparations, Congress leader KC Venugopal noted that opposition leaders have not received information regarding the ceremony. The recent elections saw the BJP securing 240 seats, with the NDA achieving 292 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats. The Congress, as part of the INDIA bloc, secured 99 seats, while other allies like Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, and DMK won 37, 29, and 22 seats respectively.
Pattnaik’s sand art stands as a creative tribute to Modi’s continued leadership, capturing the public’s interest as India prepares for another term under his administration.
