17-Year-Old Boy Decapitated in Jaunpur Over Land Dispute
Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh – In a shocking incident on Wednesday, a 17-year-old boy, identified as Anurag Yadav, was decapitated following a violent clash rooted in a long-standing land dispute between two local families in Jaunpur district.
Superintendent of Police Ajaypal Sharma confirmed the tragic event, attributing the confrontation to tensions between villagers Ramjeet Yadav and Lalta Yadav. The altercation escalated when Ramesh Yadav, son of Lalta Yadav, began clearing the disputed land, igniting a fierce conflict. During the incident, Ramesh attacked Anurag with a sword, resulting in the horrific decapitation.
Eyewitnesses reported a tragic scene, with Anurag’s mother sitting in shock beside her son’s severed head for several hours while waiting for police to arrive. Authorities quickly dispatched additional forces to the area to maintain order and prevent further violence.
In the aftermath of the incident, police detained Lalta Yadav and are currently searching for his son Ramesh, who remains at large. Jaunpur District Magistrate Dinesh Chandra assured the public that those responsible would face serious consequences. “This is an old land dispute between the two parties and it is also pending in the civil court. I have asked for a report on the dispute within three days,” Chandra stated.
Political leaders have voiced their concerns in light of the incident. Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav criticized the Yogi Adityanath administration, claiming that law and order in Uttar Pradesh is deteriorating. He expressed on X, “There is a strange contradictory relationship between today’s government and crime. On one hand, both are together, on the other hand, the weaker and more inactive the government is becoming, the more powerful and active the criminals are becoming. Today’s UP says we don’t want BJP.”
Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar also condemned the brutal attack, offering condolences to Anurag’s family. “The brutal murder of Taekwondo player Anurag Yadav in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh is extremely sad and punishable. My condolences are with the family. May nature give them the strength to bear this immense loss,” Shekhar shared on X.
The gruesome incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting ongoing issues surrounding land disputes and violence in the region. Authorities are under pressure to ensure justice for Anurag and address the underlying tensions between the families involved.
