Priyanka Gandhi Engages Voters in Wayanad by-Election on Electoral Debut

Priyanka Gandhi, making her electoral debut, is contesting the by-election for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat as voting takes place in the picturesque hill constituency. She visited multiple polling booths across the region, interacting with local voters and encouraging them to exercise their democratic rights.

Smt. Gandhi began her day with a visit to the St. Joseph Convent School polling booth in Kalpetta, where she met with voters, polling officials, and volunteers. Demonstrating her commitment to a fair and inclusive election process, she engaged with the public, urging them to actively participate in the election and make their voices heard.

The Wayanad constituency has over 14 lakh registered voters and 1,354 polling booths. Historically, it has been a stronghold of the Congress party, with the seat having been won by Congress since 2009. The seat was previously held by Rahul Gandhi, who won in 2019 before opting to represent Rae Bareli in 2024, leaving the seat vacant.

As Priyanka Gandhi makes her bid for the seat, the by-election is being closely watched, especially with the region’s long-standing association with the Gandhi family.
