Exit Polls Show Tight Race in Maharashtra Assembly Elections: Mahayuti Alliance Likely to Retain Power

Exit polls conducted following Maharashtra’s Assembly elections on Wednesday indicate a close contest between the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The voting covered all 288 constituencies across the state.

Exit Poll Predictions
• The P-MARQ exit poll forecasts Mahayuti securing 137-157 seats, while MVA is expected to win 126-147 seats. A few seats (2-8) may go to other parties.
• The Matrize exit poll predicts Mahayuti will win 150-170 seats, MVA 110-130 seats, and others 8-10 seats.
• Chanakya Strategies estimates Mahayuti will claim 152-160 seats, with MVA securing 130-138 seats, and 6-8 seats going to others.
• A more decisive win for Mahayuti is projected by the People’s Pulse exit poll, suggesting Mahayuti will secure 175-195 seats, MVA 85-112 seats, and others 7-12 seats.

Voter Turnout and Political Dynamics
The voter turnout for the election stood at 58.22% by 5 PM. This election is significant as it marks the first since the political splits within Shiv Sena and NCP, which has added a new dimension to the race between the Mahayuti and MVA alliances.

Majority Mark
With a majority mark set at 145 seats, the exit polls show various scenarios, including the possibility of an MVA majority in some projections. The outcome of this tight race will be crucial for shaping the political future of Maharashtra.
