India’s Hiring to Grow 9% in 2025 Amid Strong Demand Across Key Sectors
India’s job market is poised for a 9% growth in 2025, driven by robust demand across IT, retail, telecommunications, and BFSI sectors, according to a report from jobs and talent platform foundit (formerly Monster APAC & ME). This follows a 10% increase in 2024 and a steady 3% rise in hiring activity in November 2024, underscoring a stable employment landscape heading into the new year.
Emerging technologies like edge computing, quantum applications, and advanced cybersecurity solutions are anticipated to redefine skill requirements in industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and IT. These advancements are expected to drive demand for specialized roles, fostering innovation and job creation.
The report, based on foundit insights tracker data from January 2023 to November 2024, highlights the transformative impact of retail media networks and AI-powered workforce analytics. These developments are reshaping talent needs in areas like e-commerce, digital services, and human resources, spurring demand for professionals skilled in digital marketing, ad management, and HR analytics.
Anupama Bhimrajka, Vice President of Marketing at foundit, noted the positive hiring outlook, stating, “India’s job market is expanding as companies broaden their search for talent, venturing beyond traditional employment hubs to access a diverse pool of professionals.”
The report also emphasizes the significant growth in hiring during 2024, with manufacturing, consumer electronics, and real estate sectors playing pivotal roles. Increased industrial activity, urbanization, and digital transformation have contributed to this surge, showcasing a dynamic employment ecosystem.
Smaller cities are emerging as growth centers, reflecting a geographic diversification in hiring patterns. Coimbatore reported a remarkable 27% increase in hiring, while Jaipur saw a 22% rise, indicating a shift toward tapping talent in non-metropolitan regions.
As India continues to embrace innovation and regional diversification, the hiring trends in 2025 are set to reinforce the country’s position as a global talent powerhouse.
