Utpal Barpujari’s short film ‘Shagun’ to International Children’s Rites Film Festival
Noted filmmaker Utpal Barpujari’s short film ‘Shagun’ has been selected for the International Children’s Rites Film Festival. The International Children’s Rites Film Festival will be held in turkey’s historic coastal city from November 12 to November 20. The short film highlights corruption, bias, spreading fake news, etc., which have rocked the world of journalism of the present age. The influence of political and corporate house- etc. is also beautifully highlighted. It may be recalled that ‘Shagun’ has been screened at several prestigious short film festivals earlier.
‘Shagun’ was also screened at the 21st New York Indian Film Festival. The film won the best film award in the short film title of the 13th Guwahati International Film Festival organized by Guwahati Cine Club. Moreover, ‘Shagun’ was screened at the 13th Sains Festival in Thiruvananthapuram, one of the short film and comedy film festivals in India.
