Police raid in Kajalgaon in Sirang recovered Rs 2.5 lakh in cash including fake currency notes printed in old scale

Police from Dhaligaon police station raided National Highway 31 in Palashbari area of Kajalgaon in the wee hours on Sunday and recovered rs 500 lakh in cash and white paper bundles of fake printing along with 500 rupee black notes worth old scale. Sirang district additional superintendent of police Prakash Medhi told media that police had information that they would deal in a racket cheating with fake notes in Kajalgaon area today.

Based on that information, a police team led by Dhaligaon police officer-in-charge Pawan Gayan and assistant police officer Sandeep Narjari was on National Highway 31 in the wee hours of today. At that time, police signalled to keep two riders carrying black pulsar motorcycles without registration number from Kokrajhar PIN but the team threw a bag brought with them in Palashbari area near Kajalgaon when the two bikers tried to flee at high speed in violation of police signals.

Police later checked the bag left behind and recovered a total of Rs 2.5 lakh in five bundles of 500 rupee notes in cash, fake black money of old age and a large quantity of art and white paper used in printing fake notes. Police said the team conducted the operation after receiving information about fraudulent transactions of fake currency items including this money. Police have not been able to nab anyone in today’s operation but the police operation continues.

It may be recalled that sirang police had received information that a fake currency racket had been active for a few days. A few days ago Purb managed to arrest another man for cheating with this fake money. Sirang police suspect links with the racket which was duped with fake money with the material recovered today.
