Appeal to the Central Government to withdraw the AFSPA Act by the Nagaland government. The Nagaland Cabinet took the decision during an emergency meeting on Tuesday. The decision was taken by the state government after an incident in Mon district of Nagaland where 14 innocent people lost their lives.

The Nagaland government has also decided to stop the Hornbill festival. Today is the eighth day of this festival celebrated for 10 days. Thousands of tourists from across the country and abroad come to this Hornbill festival. State chief minister Nephiu Rio on Monday said the AFSPA law should be removed. Because this law has become a cause of unrest in the state.
