Illegal wood mill seized in Valukamari-Hatishla in forest department raid

Nagarbera: A forest worker’s operation at nagarbera river reserve forest office under West Kamrup forest division today managed to seize an illegal wood mill as well as a car. The forest workers’ team reportedly seized the illegal mill which had been running a long-standing smuggling trade in the land of Majeed Ali of Valukamari-Hatishla.

The forest workers team also seized a Tata Magic car number AS-25 C-8149 carrying smuggled wood during the operation. The seized wood later brought the mill as well as the car to the forest department office in Nagarbera. It may be recalled that for a long time there have been allegations of a circle running a romantic business of smuggled wood in different parts of Boko and Chhagaon constituencies. It is alleged that the cycle has been continuously wreaking havoc day and night due to the secret intelligence of some unscrupulous officials of the forest department by such illegal smugglers.
