Assam : Winter session of Assam Assembly set to be a stormy one
The 5-day session of the Assam Assembly starting on December 20 will conclude on December 24, 2021.


The five-day long winter session of the Assam Assembly is likely to be a stormy one with opposition parties prepping to corner the ruling BJP government on issues ranging from price rise to cattle protection bill.

The BJP government is all set to bring amendments to the Cattle Preservation Bill 2021. The government has decided to bring amendments to the bill after facing criticism from the opposition parties and other organisations.
Other bills to be introduced in the Winter session include the Assam co-operative societies amendment bill 2021, the Sonowal Kachari autonomous council amendment bill 2021, the Deori autonomous council amendment bill 2021 and the Assam tribal development authority (repeal) bill 2021.

A bill relating to the formation of separate recruitment commission is also likely to be tabled in the assembly.
