NCHISF discusses rural electrification in Dima Hasao

Following the direction of the State Power Minister, a meeting was held between the NC Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum (NCHISF) and APDCL Kanch Electrical Circle at the DGM Chamber, Diphu on Monday to discuss regarding rural electrification in Dima Hasao, informed Devid Keivom, president of NCHISF.

In the meeting, the representatives of NCHISF reiterated their demand to electrify all 79 unelectrified villages, including those without census code, through On-Grid and also conversion of the villages electrified through Off-Grid to On-Grid as per the earlier assurance from APDCL (RE) authorities. It was also agreed that CEO Kanch would send a fresh proposal for On-Grid electrification of all the village to the CGM (RE) for reconsideration.
