Assam: Cachar DC office employee arrested for land scam

An employee of the Cachar Deputy Commissioner’s office was arrested on Monday evening for allegedly being involved in a case related to a land scam.

The arrested person was identified as Raju Seal who is employed as a fourth-grade staff at the DC office.

He was arrested in connection with a case lodged by a person named Titu Mazumdar who alleged that several plots belonging to him in the Berenga area were illegally transferred without his consent.

He had lodged the complaint at the Silchar Police Station in October 2021.

The police based on the complaint filed by Mazumdar launched an investigation which led to the arrest of Raju Seal.

Seal is under interrogation by the police and the police are on the lookout for more persons who are involved in the case.
