Thieves loot 32 fans, electric wires from building of housing council in Mangaldai…

The burglars looted government property this time in the heart of Mangaldai nagar in Darang district. Thieves who are not satisfied with burglaries in the householder’s house are eyeing government property this time. According to the incident report, thieves looted valuables from the huge building of Assam State Housing Council in Magistrate Colony of Ward 2 adjacent to Mangaldai Nagar.

The four-storey tenant housing house of the Unused Assam State Housing Council was looted by thieves with electric wires, 32 fans, 8 meters, panelboard equipment and a large quantity of electric wiring in the room.

It may be recalled that the Assam State Housing Department completed the construction of the four storey edifice in 2017 itself to provide relief to employees below the poverty line. The houses were allegedly not allotted till date due to government hemahi. The allegations that these buildings are constructed but economically backward people are deprived of this government facility.

It is learnt that thieves raided 16 rooms in the built A block and disappeared with valuables. There has also been talk among the concerned public that the incident of thieves stealing government property from huge buildings has exposed a hollow form of government security.
