Children’s theatre workshop organized in Dibrugarh
A week long National Children’s Theatre Workshop with 30 participants aged from 6 to 15 years was kicked off here from Monday. The workshop was organized by the Department of Assamese in association with the ‘Internal Quality Assurance Cell'(IQAC) of Commerce College. It was inaugurated by Dr. Nilim Chetia, recipient of Senior Fellowship as a theatre activist from the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India for the session 2019-20.
Inaugurating the workshop, Dr. Chetia said, “Acting is a language. As we have to learn any language, thus learning the language of acting also needs thirst and dedication.” “Through the week-long workshop, children are expected to learn a few basics of theatre art, but to adopt it as a passion and career, they have to learn it throughout their lives,” he added. The organizing department as well the college authority felicitated the noted theatre artiste on his nomination for senior fellowship award in theatre.
